CCTOS Common : Communications and
Notifications
Version 8.1
- Objective:
- A way to "push"
information toward colleagues in the
network. A prerequisite in order to support
collaborative work in a Care Team.
- Short description:
- Derived
from Item and working as a kind of Email. The content of a
notification is normally just a link to some information already
available on-line in the database.
- Reception
of a notification:
- A notification is
a short messages
containing just a reference to information already in
the regional data base, to which a colleague should pay
attention.
- The person receiving
notifications, sees a list of headers. When clicking on a
notification, the referred document is opened from the permanent
patient record in the data base.
- Creation
of a notification:
- The information
already exist in the data base, just created or older.
- Notifications
are optional and
- Some notifications are
automated, e.g. the author of a lab request must receive a notification
as soon as a result is available.
- Compatibility
with traditional messaging systems:
- Ability
to receive messages:
- If a reliable
identification is available, the
information is immediately added in the patient record.
Otherwise
it remain waiting in a file, until the identification is
confirmed.
- Ability to send
notifications with the full content.
- Subscriptions:
- Members of the care team could "subscribe" to a
patient record and receive a notification every time some
event occurs in the patient record. This is
particularly useful for the referent doctor.
